Behcet's syndrome, or disease, usually has three symptoms. These include recurring crops of mouth ulcers (apthous ulcers), genital ulcers, and inflammation of the uvea in the eye. The inflammation of the area of the eye that is around the pupil is called uveitis.

Natural treatment, alternative therapy
Q. Has there been any testing done for Behcet`s Syndrome with natural supplements?
   A. Only minimally, that I know of.

Pomegranate juice
Clin Rheumatol. 2007. Pomegranate juice may be a potential addition to anti-Behçet armamentarium: a hypothesis. Department of Neurology, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran.
Behçet's disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis. We speculate that local or systemic administration of the pomegranate juice may be useful in the treatment of BD. Immunomodulatory, antioxidants and antibacterial characteristics of pomegranate juice may rationalize this hypothesis.

Effect of tripterygium glycosides on serum interleukin-1beta, interleukin-2, tumor necrosis factor alpha, and interferon-gamma levels in patients with Behcet's disease. Department of Rheumatology, the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College, Shandong.
To investigate the possible mechanism of action of tripterygium glycosides (TG) for treatment of Behcet's disease (BD) through observing its effect on serum levels of interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), interleukin-2 (IL-2), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma). Thirty primarily treated BD patients (BD group) were treated with TG 30 mg/d orally for 3 months, and a control group consisting of 30 healthy persons was set up. Serum levels of IL-1beta, IL-2, TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma were detected by radio-immunosorbent assay (RIA) before and after treatment respectively. And the outcomes were analyzed in combining with the clinical status of patients as well as related indices as erythrocyte sedimentation (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP). Serum levels of IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, IFN-gamma in the BD group were evidently higher than those in the control group, they all lowered significantly after 3-month TG treatment, while level of IL-2 in the BD group was insignificantly different before treatment to that in the control (though showed an increasing trend) and was unchanged after treatment. TG treatment showed the effectiveness of markedly effective in 10, effective in 16 and ineffective in 4 BD patients, with the total effective rate of 86.6%. Besides, ESR and CRP levels were evidently decreased in BD patients after treatment. TG may treat BD by way of regulating the levels of IL-1beta,TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma.

Medical review
Behçet's syndrome: a critical digest of the 2013-2014 literature. Clin Exp Rheumatol. 2014. Studies on the management of BS showed that continuous use of colchicine may not prevent the development of organ involvement at the long-term, remission of uveitis may persist after withdrawal of infliximab, refractory intestinal involvement may respond to infliximab, immunosuppressive treatment is important in reducing complications of endovascular stent grafting for aortic pseudoaneurysm and intravitreal steroid implants or injections may be considered in refractory uveitis.
