Fulvic acid supplement pills, humic acid natural product minerals, nutrients, from soil
November16 2015 by Ray Sahelian, M.D.
Humic substances are named as humic acid, fulvic acid
or humin and are dark brown constituents of soil. No major distinct divisions
exist between humic acids, fulvic acids and humins.
I can only find very little research on this topic.
BMC Complement Altern Med. 2015. Fulvic acid attenuates homocysteine-induced cyclooxygenase-2 expression in human monocytes.
BMC Oral Health. 2013. Investigating the biological properties of carbohydrate derived fulvic acid (CHD-FA) as a potential novel therapy for the management of oral biofilm infections. A number of oral diseases, including periodontitis, derive from microbial biofilms and are associated with increased antimicrobial resistance. Despite the widespread use of mouthwashes being used as adjunctive measures to control these biofilms, their prolonged use is not recommended due to various side effects. Therefore, alternative broad-spectrum antimicrobials that minimise these effects are highly sought after. Carbohydrate derived fulvic acid (CHD-FA) is an organic acid which has previously demonstrated to be microbiocidal against Candida albicans biofilms, therefore, the aims of this study were to evaluate the antibacterial activity of CHD-FA against orally derived biofilms and to investigate adjunctive biological effects. Overall, CHD-FA was shown to possess broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, with a supplementary function of being able to down-regulate inflammation. These properties offer an attractive spectrum of function from a naturally derived compound, which could be used as an alternative topical treatment strategy for oral biofilm diseases. Further studies in vitro and in vivo are required to determine the precise mechanism by which CHD-FA modulates the host immune response.
Fulvic acid supplement questions
Q. Can you tell me your thoughts on fulvic acid supplements please? I noticed you donít offer it for sale. Any known side effects or risks in taking this product? Can it effectively remove toxic metals from ones system?
A. I have not studied fulvic acid benefits or side effects in any great detail.
Q. It's seems that
humic / fulvic acid is one of the
latest miracle cures. Do you have any reliable research showing any real
A. As of 2013, I am not aware of any human studies done in Western countries with humic or fulvic acid supplements.
And what about
Fulvic acid for nutrient absorption? Do you think it works? What dosage?
I have not seen studies that show it to enhance absorption.
