Indium mineral review by Ray Sahelian, M.D. Does an indium supplement have health benefits?
Indium is a chemical element resembling zinc. Zinc ores are also the primary source of indium metal. Indium supplements are sold in liquid form and are promoted for various health concerns. I have not seen any human studies that have evaluated the role of oral indium supplements in the treatment of any medical conditions.
questions
I received promotional material that said: "Indium is a mineral that support several
hormonal systems in the body and may elevate immune activity and reduce the
severity and duration human conditions. Indium is believed to provide aid to the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. These two
master hormone producers have the job of maintaining optimal output of hormones
for the body. Once this stasis is achieved, a great many other hormone-producers
become stimulated, causing a domino effect and helping retard aging and various
health problems." Is this information about indium true?
I am not aware of any human studies that indicates an oral
indium mineral supplement
is effective or helpful in the treatment of medical conditions.
