Q. I have a question about Now foods Inulin product. Do you know if they use any chemicals in the process of deriving the inulin from the chicory root? I understand that it's possible to do this with hot water alone, but that many manufacturers use a chemical process.
   A. This is a good question. You may wish to contact NOW Foods directly through their website.
      Q. I did contact someone at Now Foods regarding the NOW inulin product, and she was quite standoffish when I asked, mentioning something about "proprietary information". I explained patiently that I wasn't asking for any trade secrets - just whether they use water and enzymes or chemicals in their inulin extraction process. Then she said she would fax me something about their inulin manufacturing process, which she never did.

Q. I wanted to let you know that NOW Foods has SAM-e in a 100 mg dosage.
