Terazosin is prescribed by doctors for the treatment of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). Terazosin is also is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. Terazosin is an alpha-blocker.
How does terazosin work?
Terazosin improve symptoms of BPH by relaxing
the muscles of the bladder and prostate. Terazosin lowers blood pressure by
relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body.
Terazosin side effects
Terazosin side effects are common and include dizziness, drowsiness, headache,
loss of appetite, fatigue, nasal congestion or dry eyes. More serious Terazosin
side effects include chest pain, irregular or unusually fast heartbeat, severe
dizziness or fainting.
